If you don't see what's going on I'll explain. Why else would Bill Gates purchase a record amount of farm land in the US and test out his Beyond Meat line? They want us to eat vegetarian and limit meat intake to the extreme. This ties into the Green New Deal. Panic will cause poultry farmers to kill off their flocks. Faulty tests will show false positives, like our PCR tests. Hoarding will ensue.

I'm not here to fear monger. I have seen this Avian Bird flu subject start popping up on more and more news feeds over the past 2 months. Just something to keep a pulse on. Using a rear view mirror to see the history of how things operate is how I came to my conclusion about how things may go. Including what we have seen so far with Covid.

Can you put a chicken wire ceiling over them, cause chickens can't see above eye level so they are prone to aerial attack.

I was clueless at first and didn't even know that crows would eat chicks. Even then I misjudged the size where they are too big for a crow and let the second batch run free too soon. Third major attack was just not understanding how bold crows are. I set up a small narrow run for the chicks so tha a crow couldn't swoop down on them but would be forced to land. Chicks could then run inside to safety. I thought the crows would never go inside through a small door. I was absolutely wrong.

I will build this for my next large batch of hatchlings. https://youtu.be/g7a-NeDTaL4 Nursery will go inside as bait until at least one crow is trapped. After at least one crow is trapped I will remove nursery and chicks as trapped crow will draw in his friends.

I checked CA law and since the crows have caused loss it is now legal for me to dispose of them. I'm not allowed to keep them so that means I have to by law dispatch them humanely. Strangely, it's illegal to use an air rifle. So I'm supposed to just wring their necks? Using a fire arm is apparently legal but you know how that would work out in suburbs residential area. Also, nothing is stated about a ladder trap. Seems I'm in a Grey area of the law. I don't even need a permit for this due to predation.

To protect our family business from bear raids on our hives we had to notify game wardens then call them out after a kill to register a legal "taking". A hive runs about $150.00 so one raid is easily a $300.00 loss. Luckily bears are territorial so removing the culprit will end the raids.

Crows on the other hand are communal so taking one or two does little. I'll have to trap most of them to break up their community and the stragglers will no longer have group protection and be driven out by the mockingbirds who hate them with a passion. The crows raid the nests of these and other song birds so the mockingbirds follow them about harassing them constantly. The crows will fly back to their friends for some protection until the mockingbirds give up for the moment. Mockingbirds can't really hurt the crows but do drive them to distraction and alert the other birds. We used to have lots of song birds but of late there are few and they always seem nervous and stressed.

Crows are smart and they are good at seeing patterns. They also pass information onto the next generation genetically. Isn't that cool? I wonder if using a radio or some sort of noise would deterr them? But it could also stress out the chickens.. maybe a forum that has to do with chickens would help with your crow issues.
I can see your struggle lol. Good luck 👍
