I was trying to get a clear look at exactly how the car was positioned and the woman was pinned, but it's too hard to see.
It seems like he just need to lift it an inch or two for a second so the mother could move her head. He used leverage, on one side of the vehicle, braced his shoulder in the door and just pushed upward with his legs- most men could wiggle a flipped car like this.
I'm not trying to downplay his heroism, but let's not exaggerate- he did move a 3500 lbs. vehicle slightly. He did not flip the vehicle back onto its wheels or anything. I suspect the uneven terrain assisted him in getting leverage.
Yeah, but those are just details. They get in the way of a good story.
he did move a 3500 lbs.
The problem with that statement is that while technically true, so is the following;
I can push the weight of the Earth with my leg and hip muscles.
Every time one does a deadlift, every time someone picks anything up off the ground, they are moving the entire fucking Earth a proportional amount to that of the object their lifting with respect to each item's weight. So it's a tiny, insignificant distance, but the distance happens.
You’re only pushing away from earth’s gravitational pull, not its weight.
I am pushing, moving the Earth with respect to a stationary point in space whenever I MOVE.
