Of course, it shares nothing with crypto currencies: it's owned by the same criminal cartel, centralized, opaque, will be debased as quickly as they can, they can track everything you spend with it, requires all the infrastructure to keep it running, will be mandatory at a future date.
The real challenge will be to get paid with this monstrosity and to convert it to a hard currency as quickly as possible before you loose it.
It should make banks a fading memory though.
Once this gets going there will no longer be real currency, that way the will control all the money, it's use and its flow.
The world bank made this intention quite clear on their website for a long time. It stated until they remove cash it would be impossible to charge negative interest rates which is their end goal.
If i have to pay a bank to store money with them, then why would i store money with them?
The will of the people?
Apparently, the only will people have these days is to get vaccinated.
From my way of thinking, we got there in 1913 after the federal reserve act. Money got replaced by fiat. Nixon took us off the gold standard. Bill (I didn't inhale) Clinton repealed the glass-steagall act. Now all we have is a ponzi scheme that passes for a financial system. Once cash is gone, any fragment of sovereignty is gone with it. Of course the kleptocracy will try to keep the illusion of sovereignty alive.

The people are not going to like the banks having the kind of control that we both know they will have with a centralised digital currency and a programmable one at that. So, what shit show do they have in store to misdirect, force, lie etc people into accepting this currency? I have a feeling this will be able to get a very large percentage of the population to accept this without to much of an issue. You run the fedcoin alongside the current system and incentivise people to take it up. Image a free 500 fedcoin per month on top of what you earn. The majority of people will eat it up.
Well... take a look at the people around you. Baaaaa baaaaaaa.....
requires all the infrastructure to keep it running
Don't current cryptos require this as well? Without electrcity, a computer, or the Internet, they're useless.
Yes indeed.
