Easy to blame 1 policy in recent times when the reality is the workforce has been plundered relentlessly since 1913.

Welfare always makes people not want to work. They will start a "Universal Basic Income" (which is just back door-communism) that will be just enough to make it not worth working. If they need people to work for a while they'll make it worthwhile then screw them over on their taxes later.

Every subsidy, that you take away if people work, marginally causes people not to work. You can argue it's a good thing -- whatever -- I dont' give two fucks if Walmart or Starbucks can hire enough people.

I work with low paid labor all across the country for my job. Some areas of the country are more effected than others. Why work if you can make almost the same from unemployment? With all the taxes we pay I can't blame people.

No, I want to work. I like making people smile because I helped them create a better day for them. I want to see their faces and be rewarded for my hard work not just with cold hard cash but with warm expressions.

Unfortunately, I live in a state that still has a mask mandate. So I'll delay working as much as I can while collecting the covid relief funds. If I'm only going to be collecting cold hard cash whether I work or not, I'll stay home.

For me, it's not the covid relief that's keeping me home. It's the mask mandate.

Many businesses have reduced hours as a result of labor shortages. Labor has a labor shortage because many younger people don't consider a career with manual labor. With the coming "interesting times" anyone without manual skills will have reduced value relative to food consumption.
