Why do countries allow foreigners to buy land in them? I will never understand this. Same goes for the United States.

American military could troll China. Buy up new land in Japan under a shell corporation, then announce that the military base is going to move to the new location. Sell the new land near the fake base for a massive profit then announce the plan fell through.

Kind of idiotic for them to allow the chinese to buy up their land at all. They don't have much to begin with.

US is allowing the same, unfortunately. China buying up the world and nobody seems to care.

I wanted to say "should I, as a German, prefer Chinese or US (direct zog) buy up land", but then I think it's better to have more division over unchecked territory power
