Also, since this is about American football, it's worth bringing up the difference in size of American blacks and African blacks. So, American football "is" of importance. During slavery, some blacks were bred for certain traits, size and strength was helpful for farm work. Brains, not so much. This is reflected in my earlier comment about them filling the "line" positions, especially on defense. Less brains required, size required.
