I am saying that the balance of risk vs reward is weighed very heavily in favour of the vaccine that has proven to be safe, in opposition to the virus which has proven to be deadly.

Hey I’m not saying the vaccine is 100% safe but if it’s safer than the virus, which it demonstrably is, then I’ll go with that option thank you.

OK and I can see that.

You said "known" risks earlier. Why didn't you chose to use that word now?

Because if we end up with a massive batch of teratogenesis and cancers and mutations...then I'd very much rather take my chances with getting sick.

What is the death rate in your age group btw?

And another word you used is the word "option".

Do you really have an option to take or not take the vaccine?

What would you call it when you are not allowed to commute freely, enter grocery stores, risk losing your job?

Would you say "Heavily encouraged"?

“If”

Put some numbers on it.

The death rate is fairly low for my age group, however I am not so selfish as to think I am more important than the society I live in, the one that my children will live in. For me, taking the vaccine is a selfless act done to protect the future of my society.

But still, if you wish to put taking the vaccine down to a self level, then you should realise covid ain’t going away and if you’re lucky you’ll get old enough one day to be in a category that is at severe risk from the disease.

There’s no escaping this. Covid-19 will still be around come the next global pandemic.
