The difference between the two militaries capabilities is such a big difference that they would still get screwed over.

If, for some reason, the USA and China decided to get in a conflict where your average soldier was fighting on the ground, the women would disappear quick, and we'd probably have bigger problems than Army lesbians anyways. Namely most Americans are unfit to serve. That scenario seems exceedingly unlikely, however.
Like you say, in actual plausible scenarios like lobbing missiles at each other, shooting down each others planes and ships, the equipment is going to make the difference.
