Getting on a boat - all inclusive - just to get away for a week....fine. Simple. Stay on the boat and enjoy the open 100 mile gaze. Be that humble guy.
The 'cruisers' thinking they are exploring the world in a week are locusts. They disembark like conquerors....exploring a new land. - "why would I dine on an island when there is free food on the boat?" - "why is no one catering to my immediate needs?" - "I paid good money for the islanders to dance for me, what gives?"

For example- going to get free conch shells from where the commercial guys dump them and selling them to the cattle for $40 each, or selling mini bottles of “island “rum for $20 - which they went and bought cheap assed rock gut rum and repackaged it to resell at a 1000% markup...
Damned near every restaurant/bar/attraction has a locals price and a tourist price. Spending time on a few of the islands while working gives you an interesting perspective of how ridiculous 90% of the idiots coming off cruise ships really are.

As a Floridian, by all means take your business to New York and pay their exorbitant taxes, you jackasses. Cocoa, Lauderdale, Key West, Miami, and Tampa won’t even notice you left, your (former) customers will do the same as every other tourist and want to go to Orlando for a day before or after the cruise- so they will choose a competitor operating out of one of our ports.
