Black box REMOVED! Diode and 3 resistors complete signal loop. Truck runs just fine,5yrs now. See how smart you arent? Correct I did it five years ago.KNOWS THEY CANT READ IT.

Explain the circuit please.

Oh yeah? How about not owning a cell phone and you car doesn't have a computer in it?

Gonna use some SWAG here:

You ran power from a common higher voltage source (Ignition switch maybe) and used diodes and resistors to meter the charge down to the correct reference voltage (maybe 5 volts) and fed it to the "black box" sensor port?

Edit:

I know enough about cars that it wont be that simple on new cars. A lot of cars have encrypted ECUs. So unless you have a tricked out honda civic with an aftermarket ECU. Or a car from the 90's. Im not sure I buy it.

Looks at username....

Are you a alt?

When did they start putting in black boxes?

[–] 2 pts

Joke's on them. They'll have better luck hacking a rock than getting Jeep software to link to my phone.

It's a miracle whenever a Jeep even starts

why would (((they))) need to go through your car and not directly from the provider?

No they can't. Literally impossible.

go to the menu of your info center and hit reset factory defaults, I don't use Bluetooth pairing for the reason you stated. I learned early on when the car dealer started texting me telling me I was due for an oil change and knew exactly how many miles was on my vehicle. I paid for an option I am reluctant to use. I was ripped off. all of us have been ripped off. convenience has become a curse.

[–] 1 pt

Only if you allow pairing to bluetooth. I don't use that particular feature for a reason. learned right after I bought the vehicle that the dealer was spying on me. disconnected, reset to factory defaults and never allowed pairing again.

Why bother? They can just access the data on your phone through your phone.

They can also figure out your encryption key by listening (literally auditory) to your CPU.

Won't happen though. You are not important enough. Also: what is a Faraday cage?

e: kek this has nothing to do with what I thought. This is a MONTHS old piece of info;

Feds can subpoena the tracked metrics of your car should it be legally relevant

No one cares. Non-issue.
