I used to like the early Manson stuff before he teamed up with Trent and become all digital electronic dark wave. Originally he was doin hard rock with actual guitar solos. I stopped listening when the guitar solos ended after his album Holywood. All trash after that.
In hindsight the early stuff was just inversion of the truth like everything out of mainstream Hollywood. "smells like children" "cake and sodomy" and "target audience narcissus narcosis" where he condemns Christians for being a copy of an imitation. Kinda took me a while to see the irony in that this character inspired by LaVey (and eventually Trent Reznor) and named after Charles Manson (acrually a good guy) is exactly that, a copy of an imitation.
