Would have been nice if Trump had investigated this....

He told you where they went. To arm ISIS.

How the hell did they miss the massive DHS ammo purchase? 1.6 billion rounds in 2013. And as fucked up, corrupt, and wasteful as our government is I'm not worried about 50k though why the department of energy would even have those is a good question.

Sadly, I was taking all of mine to my house in Florida by boat. It all went overboard in a storm off the coast.

EDIT: The article is focused on all of the guns and ammo that the feds purchased, however. Such as;

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service spent $4.77 million purchasing shotguns, 7.62mm caliber rifles, night-vision goggles, propane cannons, liquid explosives, pyro supplies, buckshot, LP gas cannons, drones, remote-control helicopters, thermal cameras, military waterproof thermal infrared scopes and more.

Ammo is a consumable. So, if you’re going to the range you’re using it. As far as the guns… most were lost in boating accidents.

Yup. A hundred thousand people across all of DHS (I didn't look that up, just guesstimated; this includes people in departments you wouldn't think should carry guns) shooting 500 rounds a month to keep their certifications = 600 million rounds expended.

Back when this was current news, I wondered why agencies such as the Postal Service would need large amounts of ammo. Just in the last week or two we learned the USPS has been running spy agency. Makes sense now.
