My wife (girlfriend then) and I visited there the end of March in '16. We flew out and did a mini road trip while there. Started in Astoria, the Seaside, girabaldi, tillamook, and ended back in portland for a few days. The roads out there are so gorgeous, and it was my first time at the ocean. When we first checked into our hotel in Astoria, we could hear this strange barking kind of sound. Get to our room and look out the window towards the coast and it's like 50 sea lions chilling on and around a rock sticking out of the ocean. All this to say, it really is sad to think about what america could be and what it actually is right now.
