Why not? A mathematician would take the limit of (1 - inflation) ^ t, t -> infinity and quickly arrive at the precise value of the dollar, which is zero. Not approaching zero, actual zero. If you haven't noticed, the dollar recently made a correction towards its actual value, as it has many times in the past.
