A second chance given, and wasted. Just couldn't resist going where the wise are warned not to go (https://www.us-passport-service-guide.com/travel-warning.html). A fool and his money is soon parted, to which I would add, the same can be said for a fool and his life.
Part of me envies the idealists of the world. Then I read shit like this and remember I have family that depends on me these days. If nothing else he's a brave SOB. Often it's a fine line between that and stupid. Hate to say it but I think he crossed over to the latter.
edit: Something about getting older makes me realize I've done a lot of stupid shit myself. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess. If you get the chance.
We tend to learn more from failures than from successes, and stupid mistakes teach the most...but the knowledge is lost if the lesson is not survived.
