This is about 3 years ago. I have a friend that works at the San Ysidro border who told me this. At one of the detention facilities where they actually feed these people that are trying to gain citizenship, a man had came in carrying a baby in a car seat. The best guess at the baby's age was no more than 4 months. So the guy asks where the food is and is pointed towards the cafeteria. He promptly puts the car seat down and walks off. They stop him and tell him that he can't leave his child there. He shrugs and replies that he's hungry and doesn't know what to do with the baby.

Just an average day at the border.
