"Any landing you walk away from is a sucessful one" - Unknown.

lets put it this way, the absolute greatest kind of person you can have in the pilots seat of an airliner is an ex fighter pilot, those fuckers can make planes do things they shouldnt and go have a look at any one of hundreds of miracle stories of planes that landed that shouldnt and what do you not generally see anywhere near the cockpit? ill leave that to you.

awesome awesome video ive seen for the life of me i can no longer remember his name but famous pilot (not yaeger) doing multiple completely unpowered loops constantly trading speed for altitude for speed for altitude perfectly balanced (thats what them fighter plane people talk about when they want 'high kinetic engagements' shit like that got learned in places like the pacific war with big fat heavy buffalo fighters vs light wood zeros, once the yanks learned to start high dive in rape them and get the fuck out again, the japanese lost their manouvering advantage and got fucked), then another one on the inside of the plane doing loops and barrel rolls with a glass of water on the dash and the water not moving.

shit you can even land an f-15 with one wing and fighter planes are designed to be completely unbalanced (leave the stick and throttle alone it will tend to move away from straight and level, thats how they can be flicked around the way they are vs cessna which is balanced and designed to right itself to straight and level.

now go look up the cornfield bomber as to what happens when the pilot ditches from an uncontrollable craft that then rights itself
