Possibly, but that's how the expert witness system works. They're being paid to give a more informed opinion than the average joe and defend it (and their reputation) on the stand.
Also, they can only give an opinion on the autopsy report, on whether it's accurate or not.
Are you sure? I was under the impression they could draw facts from it (and other things entered into evidence) and draw independent conclusions.
