OK, wait a minute. MLB enjoys a legal exemption to the federal antitrust laws. How is it that they are subsequently allowed to engage in politicking, especially to this degree, where they are literally punishing an entire region for not voting the way they'd prefer. Using money they carved out of America after getting a special deal for their industry.

It's as if we have a kangaroo system, gatekept at every location by kikes and foreign cancers.

Leftards are all about inflicting financial damage on those that hold political views they don't like. The left marries entertainment and sports to politics. Those on the right are still the majority and have to remember that we vote with our wallets, vote with our dollars. Continue the "Get woke, go broke" motto, the left needs to be brought down for their efforts to harm us with their politics in everything. Let the harm fall on the left for this behavior. Boycott MLB, miss one game, don't give your dollars for a lifetime of freedom from the left

I mean, it's better than no strategy.

But this whole "vote with your dollars" is really just a gold-hearted lolbert hard coping to their prison walls.

Like they can't/won't/don't fuck with the monopoly-money monetary supply and taxation in 900 ways?

The kikes will do it however the fuck they want, and have it benefit whoever the fuck they want.

Nooooo not the sportsball!!!111 Hopefully the GOP hold the line for once, as they have bitched out over sportsball many times.

Yes the sportsball - there is an incredible amount of monetary and social influence through various US sports leagues. Their recent entry into politics should not be laughed at and ignored but instead watched closely and resisted. It will influence a huge number of youths and we should absolutely be fighting to keep it American.

The more you run away from things changing in a way you don't like, the more things will change in way you don't like.

You make a good point but I fail to see how sportsball is salvageable as a cultural institution. So the only thing to do is laugh.

That's one of the biggest loads of horse manure that I've heard.

Let's break this down:

  • Reported by CNN ... fits their narrative so they won't question the agenda of the source. Strike 1.
  • A tourism industry official ... translation: CEO of a hotel industry lobby group, likely with a career on the rocks looking for someone to blame. And, a Republican governor makes a nice target. Strike 2.
  • And onto the numbers .... "8000 hotel nights lost " ... @ $125 / night, that's $1M gross. Assuming that 50% stay for 2 nights and 50% stay for 1 night, and 50% are double occupancy rooms. @ 8K hotel nights, they are suggesting that only ~7K of the people going to the game would be from out of town. So, all other attendees would be local, which doesn't account for tourism if we are being honest. (Same people would spend their $$ in the local economy either way.) So ... 7K people ... $125 for plane tickets (only 1 way gets local credit) + $200 for food and other attractions, plus $125/person at the game ... another $3M. So $4M lost in the local economy from out side tourists ... 4% ... whole lot less impressive than $100M. Exaggerate much? Strike 3.

Seems like the same kinda math that gets you to 6,000,000. Go figure.

I am not sure, but maybe, just maybe they are all liars. Or maybe just 6 million of them are liars.

How much will it cost the MLB though?

[–] 1 pt (edited )

It's a failed fucking shell of a sport and organization.

I'd wager 10 good anti-MLB /biz/ WSB propagandists and a wafty fart could be a death-nail.

Can we short MLB?

GA should just remove the MLB. It's fairly obvious.
