No they fucking didn't - they clearly stated in the autopsy reports that there were no injuries consistent with neck compression or asphyxiation. At the beginning of one of the reports it mentions that, but it doesn't mention it as a reason of death, it mentions it as the claimed reason of death as per the police record at the time of death, which then the autopsy report pointed out it wasn't the case.

1 - The initial autopsy report concluded it was a drug overdose. It wasn't until it was politicized and the family had a "special nigger lovin'" m.e. perform a 2nd autopsy. That "autopsy" determined it to be suffocation...despite all medical factors and science concluding otherwise. But you get what you pay for. When it was impartial and unbiased the family knew they weren't getting a penny.
