I never understood if you're going to stay in a place for a few weeks a year, why don't just rent the bitch? The only way I'd consider fractional ownership is with a few friends, but even there you're bound to run into each other on schedule unless the place is just huge.
What you do do is rent a year in advance (or more if the place is super in demand), year after year, so you get first dibs on dates.
