This is pretty common thinking by liberal arts professors. The amount of cognitive dissonance, lack of critical thinking, huge amount of hubris, and complete ignorance of the facts combine to make these people very dangerous and easy to be manipulated, as long as (((you))) control the tv, npr, pbs, etc.

Nothing is reality, value, ethics based, it is all about power. When they are confronted with any conversation that they know they can not win they dismiss everything.
It is very important to never acknowledge any other side, especially if it can not be defeated. We saw this with the election fraud where it is not even something that can be debated; if you thing that there might be a claim (never mind that courts won't hear it, people have been arrested, thousand affidavits, postmaster recordings, etc.) then you are dismissed as a far right, conspiracy theorist, who gets all of their information from newsmax. If they were to open the door to discussion then they would get crushed.
Two that I bring up are the Rotherham child rapes, and the wage gap. The wage gap is very entertaining because they really believe it, so you show them the source (if you can get that far) to their beliefs, they then see that it isn't true, but they still refuse to acknowledge it.
Women are completely able to hold two entirely incompatible thoughts as true in their head at the same time. It has something to do with how their brains are wired, the focus on parallel processing versus men being more serial processing, I think. That’s how women can simultaneously believe they need to be kept safe and also believe we need to import a bunch of rapist brown people. This makes no sense to men, of course.
Yes, the same as 'refugees welcome' is in fact 'welcome our future oppressors'. Women 'logic'.
