They were pushing EQ in social engineering and ogranizational behaviour courses in the mid-late 2000s. It's garbage based on nothing. It's part of tolerance and having no standards and not basing things on merit but on emotionally driven propaganda.

Ah okay.

Reading this, I took it as people being able to remove their emotionality on the subject and think only rationally about it. Seemed like a good thing to me.

That makes more sense. IQ. Not EQ.

I'm sure it's possible to have a high IQ and let your emotions interfere with your reasoning.
