Whenever I think of Vietnam, I think of that scene near the end of Mad Mel's We Were Soldiers, where the Vietnamese guy laments that, unless they cuck out, the Americans would curbstomp them.
It's easy to put in ~30 years after the fact, but Mad Mel's conjecture makes sense to me as we did not try to invade North Vietnam. AFAIK we went everywhere in Afghanistan that the Taliban was.
And I wish we hadn't. Has the USA fought in a justifiable and proper war since the Mexican-American war?
