I always thought our greatest strengths was Unity? One Corp, all equally worthless until until Earning the Title. One Uniform, One Name, One set of Corp Values.
To die for Israel, as One!
They Train to Kill, not Die. And fuck yourself!
OK, fine...'kill' for Israel.
My dad was a Marine Lifer. Lost a lung in the Korean War, but was still able to remain in the USMC for 21.5 years. Did his damned job, but at home he questioned what on earth the military was being used for. Did his last 3 years in Vietnam and regretted ever getting out of the Corps. So I see your point, but even my dad wondered why the military was being used in places like Nicaragua. Is Nicaragua or Vietnam really about defending the USA? What was so important about Marines going (later on) to Lebanon where they were slaughtered, then all left? Why pull out if the assignment was of importance to the USA?
If many or most assignments for the Marines are for bogus political purposes, what in hell is wrong with America and FOR WHOM are these good people being use? Our pal 'Anus_Expander' is not fully wrong about these things. He just cuts to the chase without weasel-wording, without finesse. Darn him for being more honest and right that am I.
You both truly do have common ground in your beliefs and arguments. I do see it from both sides. But if arguing is fun for you, tell us where he is wrong. Remember, SEMPER FI does not mean "Always Right". You Marines are unfortunately being used for good and for bad. A terrible reality.
