Zero chance of winning a fight against the military, man. Training goes a long way and very few civilians have any training at all. Plus the military is all together in a cohesive unit. Fighting with the military is suicide.

Militarily, the US slaughtered the Viet Cong. Over a million fighters killed vs. 58K US troops. Politically, the war was lost. But we had no business being there anyway.
