USSR had titanium adjustable wrenches. BTW, long ago while working at a small shipyard in Waveland Mississippi I picked up a rusty wrench out of the mud. It was made in USSR. I'm guessing for export because the lettering was not Cyrillic. It had one feature that made perfect sense to me. You could only adjust it to smallest setting at 1/4 inch or so. More evidence it was made for export in my mind. But think of it, why would you have a wrench adjustable to completely close? Wouldn't it then be just an awkward hammer?
Interesting. 5mm I wonder? How big an adjustable was it?
“USSR” and not “CCCP,” huh
Well, to be perfectly honest, I gave it away and maybe it did say CCCP. I may have just translated it in my head.
Anyway, I just looked it up to see if I could find a match and I did: https://img0.etsystatic.com/155/0/13969319/il_570xN.1175003628_1cck.jpg
This one looks very similar but the one I found was larger. I'd guess this one corresponds to an eight inch adjustable whereas the one I found corresponded to a ten inch adjustable.
Aha gotcha. Adjustables are always useful. I’ve had a 10” blue point under my driver’s seat for years. Must have “borrowed” it from my pops ha. Grabbed it for a stage hand gig years ago, and left it in he vehicle. Lost the companion cutters, semi recently got a 10” channel lock cutter. Good hold-out tools
