Because most of them are not eligible for a passport for one. And two, it can take months or years to get a visa to enter the USA. Most of them, even if they have a passport, do not possess the patience and forethought to wait months or years for something.
I know people who have married hispanic women from various Latin American countries who had to wait 1-2 years before they were even allowed to bring their wives into the USA. A couple of them even got divorced because their wives didn't want to wait that long, lol.
I’m suggesting they get a passport to vacation in the US.

Only instructions I could find in English. But it appears 8 weeks and most Mexican nationals should be able to fulfill those requirements. Given the number of people I’ve seen walking across the border I believe many have figured this out.
I know that's what it says, but Mexico is a heavily corrupt bureaucracy requiring one to bribe themselves through the process to get anything done. The people sneaking across the border don't have the money for that. Many of them are criminals and not eligible to get a passport. Also, you have to get a visa to enter the US, which can take months to years. Furthermore, once here, it takes years and years and years to get a green card. Even the ones that get here legally end up overstaying their visa and never leaving. Also, there is no rule of law in Mexico. Mexicans don't follow laws or obey rules because everything is so corrupt and fucked up, it's basically get what you can get and fuck everybody else. If they want to do something, they're going to do it whether it's illegal or not. That is their culture.
The only thing that's going to stop them is if crossing the border doesn't improve their life. That's not going to happen anytime soon since more people are murdered in Mexico one year than allied forces have been killed in the Middle East since 2001.
US Border Patrol lets illegals in because the Border Patrol down there is mostly Mexicans they are all on the same side. They have all kinds of clever ways to get in, but mostly it's the Border Patrol that just lets them in.
That was my point, if a source of income is not possible they wouldn’t be coming. And green card, getting citizenship? Half of Houston is illegal, seriously, they have no intention of paying taxes. Mexico is corrupt, but it’s not that bad when you get away from the border. I’d rather live there than many places in the US.
