Same exact thing happened to me. When I was young I got really into Egyptian history. Even decorated a room with the theme. Later when Egyptians suddenly became kangz I was told it was “cultural appropriation”. Then when I took the red pill I knew considering everything they built/did/documented-they had to be white.
