Flu vaccines typically contain multiple inoculations for different types of influenza and often backfire causing a mild flu they are so damned temperamental and inconsistent that I don't recommend them; typically though the type A component is highly successful.
I could expand on all that and what you said, spend an hour hunting sources down on my phone OR tap out one sentence summing up that they are inferior even from an optimistic perspective as an example of how defeating a virus might look.
You are splitting hairs and making mountains out of molehills.
