I know someone who works at Best Buy, here's how it went down.
- Everyone gets $15/hr
- Geek Squad is now pissed that the sales people make $15/hr while Geek Squad (which is definitely a higher skill position) only makes a little more
- Best Buy has record profits and sales
- Best Buy decides to start firing sales people and giving them more responsibilities around the store
- Best Buy starts closing stores and letting lots of people go
The whole thing has been a textbook liberal failure in $15/hr minimum wage. They are now going to use the cost of labor and sales people to justify moving those positions into warehouse jobs that pay $15/hr but it takes less than half the employees than a brick and mortar store.
