This was my biggest pill to swallow. Can confirm.

First, military often makes you read something at Quarters/Muster, this event can be very revealing, in this context it was mostly my white, all American normie peers, bred on sports, trends and a TV Jesus. They were alright guys, but their reading speed and literacy was alarming to me.

However, They got nuthin on the dindus, hand a black peer your own age anything to read, doesn't even have to be complicated or wordy, literally anything, a news article on waste disposal or animal cruelty, anything. They will begin slowly, and it gets worse as they go on, they will skip the words they dont know how to read or would be embarrassed to mispronounce. They will omit entire sentences if it suits their fancy.

Try it, read along and start chiming in everytime they skip a word ("you skipped 'elaborate' "), they will return to it and fuck up reading it for your pleasure before stumbling forward. Towards the end of the article exclaim loudly in a surprised voice the following: "Holy shit, you cant fucking read!"

You might want to be ready to duck or counterpunch once reaching that stage of the antics.

We cannot continue to believe that education is only for the privileged and must INSIST that our Caucasian peers adhere to and exceed this standard. In any decent society, even the plumbers should be able to read Shakespeare, if they so chose. I dont really care if the others can read. I did not go to oxford, I dropped out before High School and my parents were middle class poor. Anyone, above IQ 80, can develop decent reading skills if they are surrounded by literature.

Indeed, I don't understand how basic literacy is such a hurdle for so many. I suspect part of it is that so many White kids learn to read in school, and have for generations, while the older generations were literate before ever starting school. I used to believe that Harry Potter and Twilight (etc) at least had some value as they got people to read, but I've known many people who have read those books who still struggle, acting like the kids on those old Hooked on Phonics commercials, to read basic text...

On a related note, when I was once hanging with some anime industry Boomers they mentioned that a big factor in translating for subtitles is the average reading speed of the audience.

Very disturbing..

Why? Boomers created the anime industry, and most of the best modern age stuff that we have today.

It was Boomers who brought us anime at its apex, it is faggot soylents from the younger generations who are censoring it today over at Funimation/Crunchy.
