Wow.
Another American icon gone.
Fry's was a legend.
Reminds me of an old Radioshack we had in my town. I remember getting an RC car from there, dad and I would race it around our yard and stuff... I think it was a Jeep... Or was it a Hummer? Pretty sure it was a Hummer.
You know, most people would feel happy remembering something like that. I just feel sad. I can't really remember much of childhood, anything before junior year of high school really. It's just a blurry mess. It takes something being said or a smell or something to bring a bit of it back. Even now though, sights and smells don't do it anymore. It's like I know I should know that sight or smell from something or somewhere but I can't think of it like there's a wall there. Can't even remember most of my own fucking life... And I'm only 21.
Blueberries improve memory. Look into foods that improve cognition. Look into Health. Look into cognitive exercises you can perform. Consider taking up journaling/photo documentation if it's that extreme. After that, maybe seek professional help, your memory shouldn't be this poor at that age.
I have dementia and alzheimers on both sides of my family. I have a shoebox of little trinkets, nick nacks and papers that really seems like a big junk drawer, but its all tethered to memories.
I also use an iPod with playlists. I started to make playlists based on the year (April 2014 for example) and tend to listen to the songs for a duration of time. Whenever my iPod shuffles all my songs, certain ones will play and wherever I was and whatever was the strongest memory while listening to the song will pop in my head.
Try to find the important things to remember before the grey matter is gone.
