The great reset begins! Fry's Electronics will now become Amazon Electronics.

"...as a result of changes in the retail industry and the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic."

Yup, definitely part of the "great reset" that they keep trying to tell us is "just a conspiracy theory."

"15 dAyS tO fLaTtEn ThE CuRvE" became a yearlong flattening of the economy, small to medium businesses were destroyed, and state-aligned megacorps grew by massive amounts.

And the really galling part? Nobody will make wind-chimes out of those responsible for destroying the economy and pushing global communism.

There was a Fry's by me and over the last few years it was absolutely dismal. Literally 1/2 the store had the lights turned off. Nothing but an odd assortment of electronics parts. A few shitty laptops and TVs and a handful of appliances.

It's a bummer because it used to be jam packed with everything you could think of when it came to electronics and computers. I could spend hours walking around there. It's been on the downhill slide for a while now. Surprised it lasted as long as it did. RIP to what used to be an awesome store.

Yeah it was the same for the one in my region that was an hour drive from us. Last time my dad and I made the drive it had almost nothing we wanted. We both grabbed one little thing.

Oddly enough the stack of Logitech Trackman's they had are now worth considerably more because Logitech stopped making those models.

Wow.

Another American icon gone.

Fry's was a legend.

Reminds me of an old Radioshack we had in my town. I remember getting an RC car from there, dad and I would race it around our yard and stuff... I think it was a Jeep... Or was it a Hummer? Pretty sure it was a Hummer.

You know, most people would feel happy remembering something like that. I just feel sad. I can't really remember much of childhood, anything before junior year of high school really. It's just a blurry mess. It takes something being said or a smell or something to bring a bit of it back. Even now though, sights and smells don't do it anymore. It's like I know I should know that sight or smell from something or somewhere but I can't think of it like there's a wall there. Can't even remember most of my own fucking life... And I'm only 21.

Blueberries improve memory. Look into foods that improve cognition. Look into Health. Look into cognitive exercises you can perform. Consider taking up journaling/photo documentation if it's that extreme. After that, maybe seek professional help, your memory shouldn't be this poor at that age.

I have dementia and alzheimers on both sides of my family. I have a shoebox of little trinkets, nick nacks and papers that really seems like a big junk drawer, but its all tethered to memories.

I also use an iPod with playlists. I started to make playlists based on the year (April 2014 for example) and tend to listen to the songs for a duration of time. Whenever my iPod shuffles all my songs, certain ones will play and wherever I was and whatever was the strongest memory while listening to the song will pop in my head.

Try to find the important things to remember before the grey matter is gone.

The lockdowns killed this business, not the pandemic.

Huh 30 stores. I always thought they had more locations than that.

This is so sad. Inevitable, but sad.

jews will be lining up to buy the company at 10 cents on the dollar. they have done that all through history. you watch.

Normally I would agree with you, but this time here is no point in doing so. Because now they can set their sites on Best Buy and Amazon.

Plus Fry's was family owned so they're probably not going to sell off the trade marks. But you never know, so we'll have to wait and see.
