Some observations: The Pedo admin prioritized emissions over people. They also made it a point to financially punish Texas. They first did this by ordering Texas to buy imported energy before cranking up their plants to 100% capacity. --The order instructs Texas to "exhaust all reasonably and practically available resources, INCLUDING IMPORTS...to minimize emissions...prior to dispatching specified resources." (Emphasis mine...bottom of page 2/top of page 3) The importation of energy is one of the reasons the price of electricity went sky high. --Also: when "specified resources" (aka power generators) inside Texas were able to maximize production, they were ORDERED to sell the additional power at a rate NOT LESS than $1,500 per Megawatt hour. (middle of page 3) The price of power in Feb 2020 in Texas average $18 per Megawatt hour. --The order also states that if Texas wishes to ramp up production from any other resources not listed in the original request, they must first clear it with the DOE and make note of all emissions from said resources in a final report to the DOE in March. One thing is crystal clear: The Biden admin didn't do Texas any favors. The response SHOULD have been one sentence: "Run at full capacity until February 19, 2021." But, instead, the pedo admin chose to put emissions standards above the lives of everyday Texans. As we do a post-mortem on this tragedy, there will be many people to hold accountable. But that list will begin with the useless federal government and their emissions cult wackos.
