Really I've never been so mad at Texas. This is fucking bullshit. My small ass town of 10,000 people had like 7 snow plows or something and all kinds of salt spreaders and graders and stuff, Yet in this fucking CITY the roads still look like shit and it's hard to get around. My small TX town would have had all the snow off of the roads by now. But here they won't even use fucking front loaders or graders to clear snow. The situation is not hopeless, it's just that the municipalities and state have absolutely no brains or balls to do the right thing.

Do not let them convince you of their incompetence. This was intentional.
The damage done by salt and plows to roads is significant. There’s also the expense of buying plows, salt, operators, etc. For an area that never sees snow like Houston you really can’t justify spending 250 million dollars a year for equipment that is used once every five years. Why can’t they just close the roads when the weather gets bad?
Dallas/Texarkana is a different story, more frequent, but do the roads need to be accessible every single day? If you need that then buy a 4x4 and chains.
If anything they need to un-privatize power generation, that’s the train wreck.
