Many of the jobs I was offered over my layoff period were ones that wouldn't support my being able to pay the bills, and they were full time, often with skills or a degree required. It's no surprise that more and more need two jobs.

The quality of work will drop, services and product quality will decrease. Eventually we will all be without power and starving. And it will be the white persons fault because we did nothing but let it happen.
Most of the jobs in my area that don't require a bachelors degree are $11/hr jobs. With the cost of living in even rural parts of the US, I could barely be motivated to shower for $11/hr.
For all the boomers who's jimmies might of been rustled:
Rent - $500/month Utilities- $125/month CarInsurance- $80/month Food- $350/month Gas- $100/month (if in town)
Base Expenses = $1155 per month
Base Income (40hrs a week at 11 and Hr) = 1760 per month before taxes so lets say they take 20% in total for medicare, medicade, SS, State and Federal...
Income = 1408 per month
$253 per month is all you have to live on, invest on, and play on. And these are lowball expenditure figures. Not accounting for getting caught, its more profitable to steal from these places than work for them.
