Buckley was a bit slick, especially when on TV interviews. But he was 4 times the intellectual that Rush was. I am from Missouri and never could stand pompous loquacious Rush. He preyed on foolish/frustrated old Reaganites and hooked them into supporting Dubya.
Buckley sold out America First for (((conservatism))) and was heavily connected with the CIA.

Had a friend that was a photographer/journalist that I knew from Mizzou back when they and Journ School was decent. He had lowly job with KC, Kansas paper "The Kansan" back in early 1980s, but covered some of same sports events as Rush. Said it was all he could do to keep his 6'3" 250lb. body from knocking that turd over for his behavior in press room.
