Well I'm glad I had not gotten around to watching that show,
I'm glad for you, as the show was pretty mediocre. It was closer to the Disney Trilogy than it was to the original.
In some ways it was worse, as the gurrl power was off the charts. Pretty much every woman fighter was stronger than all the boys, the last season even had a woman throwing Mando himself around. Also, do you remember frazzled old lesbians running the spaceport in Mos Eisley? Because the show expects you to remember frazzled old lesbians running the spaceport in Mos Eisley.
That sounds retarded.
It kinda was.
The consensus I've seen is to just watch the first 3 episodes of Season 1, they are supposed to be the best that the show has to offer, and were like a mini-movie. Everything else is in S1 until the end was more of a ho-hum "adventure of the week" deal.
S1 also had an unfortunate bit with Gina Carano's character as she is introduced by being able to out-wrestle large alien males, and is able to literally get the drop on Mando while beating him up through his armor using just her bare hands. Both seasons of the show make a yuge deal about how ultra-strong the Beskar armor is, but he's getting whupped like a pinata by a bare-knuckled broad through it.
In fairness, I recall that there was a line that Carano's character was a genetically-modified supersoldier created by the Rebel Alliance, but that would raise a ton of questions on its own.
The show also has an issue with having a bunch of different directors. So the last ep of Season 1 is directed by Taika Waititi, and if you didn't think that his Thor Ragnarok was hilarious then it'll be a slog as he decided to put his sense of humor into it.
That shit was happening before the Mandalorian. It is all over Rebels and Clone Wars. Especially the lesbian clan of mandalor.
