Very well said Turtle. This is one of the smartest comments i’ve read on this site.

I’d like to add that I was catholic. Baptized, confirmed and all. I hated going to church and Religious study every week for 8 years. It always felt more like a cult then a religion to me as the catholic version of god was some being that would forgive your sins after 30 hail marys.

In my teens i rejected the faith entirely and became atheist. It was only untill my mid twenties when i started reading the bible did i figure out what it meant to be christian. The catholic church did not empasize the bible and never mentioned the prophecies. The prophecies are what made me a believer because you it fulfilling today with your own eyes.
