Kudos to that lady for showing some entrepreneurial initiative. Shame on the fucking MSM for reporting it that like she's some genius for 'inventing' plastic bricks.

Not to mention that it is not a solution to plastic pollution because those bricks will eventually break and be discarded, and the plastic will get into the environment.

There is no lab. She isn't that smart.

It's a shithole that buys Indian plastic and mixes it with sand and recycled plastic.

Notice there aren't giant piles of empty bottles.

But there are bags of polyethylene granules from India... and sand.

This story is a scam.

Also, how large can a building even be using these things and how fast would it burn down?

She'd make more money counterfeiting Legos, but that might take actual scientific knowledge of about a high school level.

Not only that, the polymer will either dry with age and loose cohesion or it will melt in the african sun and loose cohesion.

This is like inventing carbon fiber rocket engines. Sure it's neat but its a nigger of an idea.

Oh shit I just imagined walking barefoot on soft ooey gooey plastic path with hot sticky plastic sticking and burning into my foot. Good thing the sand is in there to help retain the sun's warmth. Ouch!

And she is selling them for the same price as cinder blocks.

Fucking niggers, they'll even dilute plastic to make a buck.

If these were from waste plastics then leaching toxins, etc, would be an issue. Those could be stabilized with the correct additives, but probably not worth the trouble (or energy input.)

Then there is the fact that I'm sure no analyses are being done to determine the structural performance of these bricks.

Now I'm just nit picking, but her tolerances also seem like 3" +/- 1".

I could see these bricks as a weird special use material, but not specifically what that could be.

That's what I'm thinking as well, the toxic off-gassing will have you in hospital pretty quick. Not all plastics are for regular human contact. You couldn't pay me to live in a plastic house.

They say it's 5-6 times stronger than concrete but that's impossible. The plastic bricks would have to be glued together with insanely strong glue to make a wall as strong as concrete.

[–] 2 pts

Whenever an article says something is stronger then concrete they always leave off the important part of the comparison, such as: "stronger then concrete by weight". In this case the plastic bricks are stronger then the compressive strength of concrete, the plastic is the binder not the bulk of the brick. These bricks are deforming but not breaking, giving a false reading of strength. Notice that they only use them as pavers. Try making a structure from hot glue and sand. Measuring a flexible material by compressive force is a false metric, they need to measure plastics by the tensile strength, ultimate elongation, yield point and modulus of elasticity.

[–] 1 pt

Yea, I want to see the deformation cuves on this. Maybe these could be used as buffers?

I think there strength test was throwing it on the ground and watching it bounce. Then throwing a paver and watching it break.

My house is concrete with rebar every 18 inches. I'll survive a .50 hit, not sure the plastic blocks will.

BTW my base is 12" thick and the upper floor is 10". Plastic/sand brick would sag after time under a load, not to mention break down by our very dry climate.

They just wanted to showcase a bullshit story so they can further brainwash the masses

It didn't say that walls would be stronger than concrete walls. It said that the bricks were stronger than concrete blocks.

I would say that this is due to some shit tier "test". Like laying each one down on its side and putting it in a press. The plastic is already compressed and laying flat so it will take higher pressure to break it than a 12 inch block laying on its side with the air space there ready to be crushed.

It all depends on what kind of "tests" they used to determine strength.

Roads would be made out of plastic.

[–] 3 pts

If someone builds a house or a tower block with them it will be interesting to see how long before it burns down or rather burns up.

Maybe the nigger is actually just pushing other niggers into the melter machine.

That would at least be of some service to humanity.
