There was talk a while back about the military using lasers (or something similar, I can't remember) to start the fires, with the fire pattern matching up to where the CA government wanted to build a light rail system That said this politician yelling about "jewish space lasers" is doing it to make the right look bad. It's pretty easy to spot controlled opposition, especially when their purpose is to delegitimize the right in the public eye. They say shit in outlandish ways so the truth looks absolutely ridiculous to most people. Take Alex Jones and frogs as an example. He's hootin' and hollerin' about frogs turning gay, ripping his shirt off and grunting, selling you magic crystals that boost testosterone, etc. Well, the pesticide atrazine IS turning male frogs female, but many think it's BS because Alex Jones made the entire issue look fucking stupid by acting like an ass the entire time.
