I meant it's unclear that the daughter is the one who came up with the bullshit about her peaceful dindu boyfriend calmly and apologetically trying to defend her. She might have and she might be willing to testify to that effect, but I'm willing to bet it was the prosecutor invented it and fed that line to the papers. That's why they're quoting that part as "reportedly" and "is said to have" rather than actually specifying a source.
They did the same thing in the Trayvon Martin case, completely inventing a scenario from whole cloth with no witnesses to back it up, then preaching it as truth to the press for months until that's all anyone believed.

I try to. Especially when they have headlines as dodgy as this one. It's strongly implying that he literally just executed him the moment he saw him under the bed, I was not in the least bit surprised to find out that a little more happened than that.
