I was really fast and they always paired me with the older blacks (I was in middle school). I rarely won but I always felt good that I was a good enough sprinter to be competing against the older nogs- they were fast!

they tried to put me in the 800m class. nope. and i didn't even want to run track but the coaches asked me to join the team. it was only me and one other White girl on the team. and we were not liked not one little bit.
