I should have checked before i wrote the answer, you are right GAB is just Mastodon, wouldn't a plain mastodon app work?
I really do not use GAB enough to care, i can live with using it on browser occasionally
I don't know about technical details and I'm not good with this stuff. I only know that Gab was removed from app stores years ago.
Someone who knows more should provide such details.

The software, yes. But it looks like the org is cucked like every other OSS project. Gab is Chad right now but it's monetized and not by you.
