Not everyone has a massive basement where they can store a library full of storage.

While it's certainly not cheap, you can buy 18tb enterprise rated hard drives in a 3.5" format. Most motherboards usually sport at least 6 slots to attach them. That's a lot of storage in one computer case.

All I have is a small NAS device with 2 bays of 6 terabytes each. Works great for me.
