As a former journalist: You can always tell how strongly an outlet feels about a story by who the byline goes to: "The Editorial Board."
No one had balls enough to put their name on it.
Which means they were either afraid to put their name on it... or they didn't believe what they were saying, so they wouldn't put their name on it.
Either way, doesn't say much about the outlet.
They probably didn’t want to be singled out by trolls (and the President).
On top of that, they give give anyone a chance to respond.
