This is a weird thing to say, since neither the Pfizer nor Moderna vaccines use those cell lines. Those cell lines are used for growing live virus in large quantities, and these aren't live virus vaccines. The mRNA in these vaccines can be produced in any type of cell, even in yeast. I wonder why they felt the need to say this? Hedging against a traditional covid vaccine in the future?
