this seems like unnecessary drama to me but i'm certainly willing to abide by the community's decision
i spend significant time (understatement) curating news for my website - these news headlines and excerpts are compiled into a single post prefaced with 'News Bytes' which i link to here in a single post once or twice a day usually ( )
for reasons which are less than clear to me, i've been getting feedback ( ) from a couple people who are recommending that i create my own sub to contain these news posts rather than posting them in - the primary argument seems to be that i'm linking to a site which i admin
while it is true that i run 12bytes.org, the site is not monetized and there are no ads - i do have links to donate crypto and the single donation i've received has been about 1/6th of what it costs for 1 yr. of hosting - the point being that i'm not trying to draw people to the site for financial gain, rather i personally think the content i curate tends to be more (far more) accurate and informative than the garbage found across the mainstream social media platforms and so, like you, i want to share it with others
what do you think? do you want to see the News Bytes posts here? a simple yes/no is fine, but i'd like to hear any comments you might have as well
