Yes. It's brought up for the pre-show while the audience filters in, then goes back below the stage while the movie is played. I think it's the only one of it's type left in the place it was built for.
When the theater was built in 1928, it would have dropped down about halfway so the organist could watch the movie and play the soundtrack and effects with the movie.
